CESDP is committed to helping school communities build a culture of positive school, family, and community partnerships where everyone works together to create better programs and opportunities for students. In 2006, CESDP developed a toolkit intended to provide resources for building partnerships, improving student success, providing staff development, enhancing parent leadership, and connecting schools and communities.

In 2016, at the request of the New Mexico Public Education Department, the toolkit was updated with stakeholder input. This resource-rich toolkit is based on national standards and presents a framework for New Mexico schools to nurture family-school partnerships that build capacity among educators and families to collaborate with one another around student success.
