This module provides tools and resources to measure and improve family and community collaboration within your school community. Engaging community members, businesses, and organizations as partners in children's education can improve learning communities through benefits such as expanded learning opportunities, broad-based support for increased school funding, and quality after school programs.

Use the Self-Assessment Rubric and Reflections tools to evaluate your efforts to collaborate with your community. Think about where you see yourself and your school in the process of engaging community members, businesses, and organizations as partners in your school community.

Use the Teacher Self-Assessment rubric to evaluate your efforts to support collaboration with the community. Think about where you see yourself in the process and strategies you use to support and value parents as critical partners in their children’s success.

Use the Teacher Reflection for collaboration with the community to plan for improvement, reflect on key elements and consider where you see yourself and your school currently as well as in the short and long term in collaborating with community members, businesses, and organizations as partners in education.

Use the Family Reflection tool to engage parents in reflecting on perceptions regarding the school and specific actions that they can take towards improvement.
