Quality Teaching and Learning

Providing innovative support that enhances quality teaching and learning, while nurturing the capacity for continuous improvement, has been at the heart of CESDP  since its inception.  CESDP prides itself both on the professional learning support that it offers as well as the ability to creatively approach and tailor efforts to the needs of school communities.

CESDP is prepared to support our national and state initiatives for educational reform by guiding professional learning that increases the effectiveness of teachers and administrators through an ongoing, deliberate and job-embedded approach.  CESDP applies a systemic model to support continuous professional learning that includes the alignment of standards, curriculum, instruction and assessment. This model includes a comprehensive needs assessment to help determine training, mentoring, coaching and the potential need for a district-wide or school-wide focus.  Professional learning communities are used to implement a formal structure for professional dialogue and articulation.

It is expected that both teachers and administrators actively participate while building capacity to sustain a culture of personal and professional growth. This ensures that  teachers and administrators strengthen and model the lifelong learning habits and attitudes we encourage of our students. Developing a high level of accountability and transparency for systemic improvement  efforts, with the intent of showing evidence of impact on increased student achievement as well as evidence of implementation on behalf of teachers and administrators, is a foundational objective of CESDP.
